Hush was born in Newcastle, England, and trained as a graphic designer at the Newcastle School of Art and Design. He practices art around the world through Asia, Europe, and the United States. His immersion in such a wide variety of cultures and environments is remarkable in his work and his captivating portrayal of the immortal beauty of the female form. During his travels, Hush developed a real fascination for making brands, marking and graffiti that he encountered along the way.
After completing his studies, he travelled and lived in Asia, first in Hong Kong and then in Japan, where he worked as a toy designer. He became fascinated by the representation of women in Japanese culture and by Asian women who adopt Western fashion, creating a cultural mix, juxtaposing traditional fabrics and other elements with European-style objects and clothing.
The artist Hush creates amazing and surprising works by mixing graffiti, collage and mixed techniques, in which he brings to life a traditional Japanese figure: the geisha. Mixing new techniques with tradition can be risky, but the artist’s portraits, visible in the streets and art galleries in Asia, Europe and the United States, transcend barriers.
